Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale

Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale

Project Highlights

  • Senior Combat Designer that helped get 20 on-disc characters shippable
  • Designed both characters for the first DLC Pack: Emmett Graves and Kat
  • Worked on post-release balance patch issues

Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale was my fifth shipped game title and my first where I was credited specifically as a designer. My primary goal when I began work on this project was to be able to get extremely in-depth with my work. In my previous projects, especially once I became a lead, it become more and more difficult to be able to focus on a single task and get it to an extremely high level of polish. I wanted to get back to where I was on my first projects where I could take the time each piece of a game truly deserves.
Early in the project I was able to do this by helping other designers finish their characters, but my goal became fully realized once I was given my own character – Kat. As part of the first round of DLC, Kat was my character from start to finish: I re-interpreted her playstyle as a Battle Royale character, kept the animation, VFX and SFX department creating content that matched, and ensured her final version both represented her from the original game as well a fun, unique and worthy addition to our own game.
